Still renders of the six featured T’au septs featured in the 8th edition Tau Codex for the tabletop game Warhammer 40000, as well as an XV8 Crisis Battlesuit in action.
A much larger project in the works will have me combining and animating all these assets and more in the coming months as I transition to working in the Blender engine and with better material layers. Continue reading Tau Project→
I’ve had the models and animations for this around for some time and decided to actually turn it into something initially a 10 second concept. This was a mock-up for something to have as a background for streamers of The Binding Of Isaac when going AFK. With space around the edges, there’s room for the streamer’s banners/chat on screen and something lurking in the darkness every now and again helps keep the stream mildly interesting for extended periods.
A few things I dislike here are the light shaft (which is a static image at the moment), a lack of dust effects (I have other things to do today other than render) and too few enemies in the dark (I’d make more if there’s any interest for me to do so).
Audi would also be something to add if it’s wanted but for a streamer that might have their own music playing, it’s not really an issue for me on this project.
I love the Binding of Isaac and enjoyed putting this together and I’ll probably model a few things in the future from the game as well. Creepy as heck 🙂
My first fully independent 3D animation after a year at SAE. The trimester had us creating a short 2D and 3D animation while providing assets and assistance to games students and create for ourselves in other subjects.
I hope to use the Tiki Tirbe and Red Mask here for future learning experiences through the holiday break and beyond. How could I say no that that … mask.
The culmination of a trimester’s work with team Anim8s. I handled the animations for many shots, final rendering for more and finished putting everything together in the end for submission.
Certainly an experience to learn from for my interactions with team members as well as my own personal workflows.
Given the effort I put in, I’d say I’m satisfied with the end result. If I was to do a remake right now, I’d start by only drawing polys I want to model on my plans and not sections that are just textures. That stuff gets confusing in just outlines when you come back to it after a while! I’d also stock up on a few more textures before I got started on that stuff and decide what patterns I want where. But yes, huzzzah.
